Former NFL Lineman Isaiah Buggs Sentenced to Hard Labor for Animal Cruelty

NFL Lineman Isaiah Buggs

Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been sentenced to hard labor in Alabama after being convicted on two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. The sentencing, handed down by Tuscaloosa County District Judge Joanne Jannik on July 19, 2024, includes a year of hard labor with 60 days to be served and the remainder suspended for two years contingent on his behavior. Buggs is also prohibited from owning or being around dogs and cats during this period.

The charges stem from an incident involving the neglect of two dogs, which were found malnourished and emaciated. In addition to his legal troubles related to animal cruelty, Buggs faced recent charges of domestic violence and burglary, leading to his release from the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL.com) (APR).
