Is Taking a Liquid Nutrition Drink Overrated?

You may have seen advertisements for a liquid nutritional supplement with claims such as being a great deal more absorbable than vitamin pills. But does it truly live up to its claim? Is it really a benefit to use liquid nutrition, or is just a waste of money?

Make no mistake about it: buying a bottle of liquid nutrition is usually more expensive than a bottle of vitamin pills. In my experience the price for the liquid is typically around $30-$40. So if you are on a tight budget, this is certainly a factor to consider if you are thinking about buying a liquid nutritional supplement.

However there are other factors you should consider, aside from the price. If you find pills hard to swallow, then the extra few bucks might be well spent. A liquid nutrition drink is very easy to take and swallow, and if it tastes good then all more the better. In this particular case, the extra cost is actually going toward something that directly benefits you.

Above all, the health factor is the most important thing to consider with liquid nutrition. It's all about your body receiving the necessary vitamins and minerals after all. Consider your typical diet...do you get a sufficient amount of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients? If you're like me and do not eat most vegetables, then high-absorption supplements such as liquid nutrition are certainly something to consider. On the other hand, if you think your diet has enough vitamins and minerals, then perhaps vitamin pills and tablets will suffice if necessary.

So to sum it up, if you are content with the nutrients in your diet and receive enough vitamins from vitamin pills, then perhaps liquid nutrition is not for you. But on the other hand you might want to try it out if you are curious, you need to take highly-absorbable supplements for health reasons, or you do not receive adequate nutrition from your regular diet.
